Statement: The title refers to gratitude which I feel toward two friends who made this quilt possible. One gave me several pieces of old sarasa at a time when I had very little of that fabric; another friend lent me a precious book which clarified my ideas about the design, which enabled me to start work. This suggests the tall buildings of Manhattan, viewed from above, with colorful rooftops. I was surprised that one could use the impression of three dimensions so strongly.
